Memory

" I just want to forget this person / that this incident ever happened". We all, including me, have told this to ourselves n number of times but now I wonder why we think like this by default because, on the other hand, all we wish for is an amazing memory to remember everything important.  It is always the person who hurt us or the incident that broke us the most that we want to forget but the truth is our brain can't FORGET all that. We can only put it in the deepest layers of our memory but still, we struggle and hurt ourselves more by trying to forget bad incidents and hurtful people. Why? It's because we consider them scars or points of weakness whereas the fact is that all these are proofs of what we experience and the lessons learned from them, how strong we stand after that and this will give us the courage and reason to continue facing the world. All of this is a part of our journey and in my opinion, it's better to just let it remain in the memory.
