2021 to 2022

Wow!!! It's the last day of 2021. This year was definitely long with a lot of roller coasters, one of which was turning 18. Now, it seems to have happened in a blink of an eye.

The year started with college reopening, after the pandemic, which was both a relief(because we could finally meet our friends) and seemed a burden (because we had to complete the incomplete work and stay completely awake during the classes). Rushing through the syllabus completion and practicals, preparatory examinations, complete confusion about the final examinations being conducted, anxiety spiking with everyday and the spotlight- the second wave of corona that shut us all at home again and emotionally and physiologically attacked many of us, all of these ruled over January to May. Crushing all these, came the competitive exams challenging us to the core.

“ Turning 18 is so cool, we will be officially adults, there will be so much freedom, starting with college life. Life will all be dreamland. Woohoo!!! How great can life be?” was the idea until last year but this year proved to be a trailer of adult life.  “With more power comes more responsibility” is so true. On turning 18, we are put in a position to make major decisions that pave the way to our goals. We get our license and voter ID done, open a bank account, go out and explore new skills and hobbies, adjust to college life where everything isn't spoon-fed, etc. Initially, it seems like a lot but all of it makes us more independent and adds to our self-confidence. Life will still have roller coasters which makes it worth living and we deal with it better.

This year sure had its ups and downs at different times in all our lives. The best part is we all faced it, learnt and came past it, ready to enter the new year, which proves that we all have a purpose in life.

Lessons I learnt this year which I would like to share-

  1. There will be times when we feel low or under-appreciated or dissatisfied with our work and efforts but every bit of it has its effects on our lives and all the good deeds we do, even if not appreciated, create a positive impact on someone’s life. Keep going.

  2. All of us have something unique about our talent that nobody in the world has. Once we identify that, we can work and master it so we have our unique position in that field of work or life in general. Nobody in the world can be exactly like us. So we have no replacement.

  3. All of us are capable of being the so-called “perfect” or “best” person in the world. Precisely, we are already the best hero of our world and life. We might dislike some characters of ourselves or feel like we aren't as potent as the others around but we don't have to hate ourselves for that. We are just in the process of evolving into a person with all the characters, which inspire us. So we should appreciate and love ourselves for what we are and what we are becoming.

Trust yourselves and we all will have an amazing year. Wishing you all a very Happy New Year!! May this year fill all your lives with lots of joy, success and the best of everything.
